Nicholas Demitraszek, 12, of Tribes Hill, holds up his empty pint in victory after winning the kids category in the annual Stewart’s Ice Cream Eating Contest at Saratoga Race Course on Wednesday, Aug. 22. Demitraszek finished his pint of Stewart’s Philly Vanilla ice cream in 2 minutes and 21 seconds. Thomas Marola, 16, of Scotia, won the teen category in 50.9 seconds while Mike Nagengast, 43, of Cohoes, took the adults category at 48.9 seconds. A total of 31 track patrons participated in the annual competition.
