Celebrity chef brings Italy to Saratoga

09/02/10 Lidia Bastianich is one of the most well-loved chefs on television, and considered the face of PBS’s cooking show sector; but she didn’t plan it that way.

“I was always passionate about food but it’s not something I knew I wanted to do right away,” said Bastianich. “I grew up where food was the epicenter. I still remember working alongside my grandma, milking the cows, making the ricotta, making the olive oil. That’s all part of my heritage and so essential.”

Bastianich has authored six cookbooks, piloted four cooking shows on PBS—the latest of which was nominated for an Emmy—and runs six restaurants in New York City, Pittsburgh and Kansas City... Continue Reading
