Local agencies work together in case of fuel fire
SCOTIA — The NY Air National Guard’s 109th Arilift Wing hosted a major accident response exercise on June 14 at Stratton Air Base with local emergency agencies. The exercise simulated a tanker truck explosion and included simulated victims played by members of the Civil Air Patrol and Cadets.
Boys Lacrosse teams from North Colonie traveled to Burnt Hills on May 5 to take on the Spartans.
CBA traveled to Glenville to take on BHBS. The game was Senior Night for the Spartans and they came out strong, scoring four goals in the first period. BHBS won the contest 4-0.

Guilderland travelled to undefeated Shenendehowa on Oct. 17 to take on the Plainsmen in the final game of the regular season.
Saratoga travelled to Clifton Park to take on Shenendehowa on Sept. 26 with the plan of stopping the Plainsmen on the ground, but Shen countered with a huge passing game. Shen won the contest 35-6. See the photos.

The Ballston Center Reformed Presbyterian Church was the target of a lightning strike during the strong thunderstorms that rolled through on Wed. night.
The Spartans continued their winning ways from last year winning 69-25 over Lansingburgh. The Knights visited Burnt Hills in the opening game of the High School season on Sept. 6, but found out the Spartans were ready to play.
Close contest in opener
Guilderland and Ballston Spa battled it out on the gridiron on Sept 6 on opening day of the 2013 Section 2 boys high school season. The Scotties were leading into the fourth quarter when Guilderland made a 14-0 run to win the contest 28-21. See all the photos.

The Burnt Hills Ballston Lake high school football team took a step closer to once again reach the state finals defeating Amsterdam 48-6 on Nov. 3 in the Section 2 Class A Superbowl.

Moves forward in Section 2 playoffs
Burnt Hills Ballston Lake football took a step closer to making a deep run in the playoffs on Oct. 19 against Mohonasen. The Spartans downed the Warriors 68-6.
Ballston Spa needed quarter points and a win over Saratoga to make the playoffs. Ballston got both downing the Blue Streaks 34-0.
Saratoga traveled to Shenendehowa on Sept. 5 and ran into a fired up Plainsmen team. After suffering a loss the previous week, Shen came out gunning and did not look back in a 49-0 win over the Blue Streaks.
Burnt Hill-Ballston Lake stomped Gloversville with an efficient offense and a stout defense. The Spartans scored 54 unanswered points to win 54-7 on Sept. 29.
Albany traveled to Saratoga to take on the Blue Streaks but stumbled 47-25 on Sept. 14.

Auto racing is big in Malta
Engines were roaring in Malta on Friday night as the Albany-Saratoga Speedway came to life. Thousands of people came out to see local dirt cars battle it out for cash and prizes.
