DELMAR – On Saturday, Sept. 17, hundreds are expected to attend the Fifth Annual National Drive Electric Car Week event at the Delmar Farmers’ Market.
The event will highlight the environmental and cost-saving benefits of electric vehicles, and attendees will be able to test drive dozens of different vehicles.
Plug-in vehicles by Nissan, Chevrolet, Honda, Ford, Kia, Mistubishi and other automakers will be available for a test drive and electric vehicle chargers and products will be on display for consumers to peruse. Attendees will have a chance to check out the Telsa Model S and BMW i3.
Electric vehicle owners will hold an electric car parade, host “tailpipe-free” tailgate parties, recognize leaders promoting electric vehicles and announce the launch of new public electric charging stations.
The Delmar event is one of more than 100 such events across the county.
It will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Delmar Farmers’ Market held weekly at the Bethlehem Central Middle School at 322 Kenwood Ave.
