    A RAPID INCREASE IN WIND SPEEDS IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD ACROSS
    WESTERN NEW YORK FROM WEST TO EAST BETWEEN 5 PM AND 8 PM. WINDS
    HAVE GUSTED TO OVER 60 MPH OVER THE PAST FEW HOURS ACROSS NORTHERN
    OHIO AND SOUTHERN ONTARIO...AND THESE STRONG WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO
    REACH WESTERN NEW YORK SHORTLY. HIGH WIND WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT
    FOR THE REGION.
    AS WINDS INCREASE THE POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGE WILL ALSO INCREASE...
    WITH SOME TREES AND POWERLINES LIKELY COMING DOWN. POWER OUTAGES
    MAY RESULT IN SLOW TRAVEL THROUGH THIS EVENING AS TRAFFIC SIGNALS
    ARE KNOCKED OUT. REMEMBER...IF YOU COME TO A TRAFFIC SIGNAL WHICH
    IS NOT FUNCTIONING...BY LAW YOU MUST TREAT IT AS A 4 WAY STOP.

    AND LEWIS COUNTIES THIS EVENING...
    * AT 622 PM EST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
    LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND CAPABLE OF PRODUCING SNOWFALL RATES OF UP TO
    ONE INCH PER HOUR...AND VISIBILITY OF A HALF MILE OR LESS. THIS
    LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND WAS LOCATED OVER OSWEGO...SOUTHERN JEFFERSON
    AND LEWIS COUNTIES THIS EVENING.
    * SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED BY THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND INCLUDE...

    NINE MILE POINT...
    ALTMAR...
    PULASKI...
    SANDY CREEK...
    REDFIELD...
    OSCEOLA AND FISH CREEK...
    THIS INCLUDES INTERSTATE 81 BETWEEN EXITS 33 AND 40.
    DRIVING WITHIN THIS SNOW BAND WILL BE DIFFICULT AT TIMES WITH SNOW
    COVERED AND SLIPPERY ROADWAYS. IF TRAVELING ACROSS THE AREA SLOW DOWN
    AND BE PREPARED FOR RAPIDLY CHANGING ROAD AND WEATHER CONDITIONS.
