In an effort to take a break before waiting out election results, I drove seconds from our office in Delmar through the iconic Four Corners intersection. What I found was an eye-catching, and somewhat funny, display of last-minute campaigning.
Standing in the forefront was John Clarkson, a candidate for supervisor, and Jeffrey Kuhn, a candidate for town board. Both are running on the Democratic line.
Behind them is a van with a banner that reads "Town Board: Near & Martelle," referring to Jeremy Near and Jeremy Martelle, the two Republican candidates for seats on the town board.
What makes things even more eye-catching is that the van is parked in front of the Perfect Blend coffee shop, which will be the headquarters for Clarkson supporters as the polls close at 9 p.m.
What's not pictured are the handful of signs for all candidates running for town office, which have lined the landscape of the Four Corners for more than a month.
