Gold medalist in Delmar

The Bethlehem Tomboys Girls Softball League will be hosting Olympic Gold/ Silver Medalist and ESPN commentator Jessica Mendoza (jmendoza.com) tomorrow.

From the release:

Jessica will deliver a two hour presentation entitled “Better Athletes, Better People: Teaching girls how to use sports to be more confident students and leaders” at Bethlehem Central Middle School, 32 Kenwood Avenue in Delmar, this Saturday from 7 to 9 pm. Her appearance is sponsored by the Bethlehem Tomboys Girls Softball League. Admission is $10.00 per person.

Her multi-media presentation, which she gives to young athletes at appearances throughout the country, focuses on empowering young girls through team sports. Through personal stories and humorous anecdotes, Ms. Mendoza stresses the importance of teenagers making good choices regarding academic study, health, and mind/body fitness.

Also, this Sunday, October 16, from 9 am to 3 pm, Ms. Mendoza will teach a girls’ softball clinic, also sponsored by the League. Only four slots remain for the clinic, (registration at www.bethlehemtomboys.com) which will also feature local college coaches and players.

We should note this release came in a few days ago, so it's not known if those aforementioned spots are still open.
