You can get of a taste of Schenectady County Community College's culinary students' skills and help out area flood victims at an upcoming benefit dinner.
Storm Aid, a Schenectady based non-profit group, is hosting “See the Light, A Season of Hope” on Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Van Curler Room at SCCC. Tickets are $50 per person and proceeds will benefit victims of Hurricane Irene in Schenectady, Schoharie, Greene and Montgomery Counties.
Food will be prepared and served by students and faculty in SCCC’s School of Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism. The menu will feature hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, salad, pasta, carving stations and a “make your own sundae” station. Al Santoro and Friends will entertain guests with music and there will be a silent auction and cash bar. Assemblyman James Tedisco is serving as honorary chairman of the event.
