Many people relied on the Rotterdam Junction Fire Department for a meal after devastating floods swept through last fall and now they're asking the public to help improve their kitchen.
Leadership Tech Valley's Class of 2012 is sponsoring a project to help the fire department refurbish its outdated kitchen to stregthen its ability to serve residents and be better prepared for any future emergencies. The Recovery Sports Grill located at at 1925 Curry Road in Rotterdam will host a 'Dining to Donate' fundraiser on Tuesday, April 24, from 5 p.m. to 9.m. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to support the project.
Coupons to present at the Recovery Sports Grill to participate in the fundraising event or to contribute are available at www.facebook.com/renewrjfd.
Here is a little about the Leadership Tech Valley program:
Leadership Tech Valley is a shared initiative of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Schenectady County. Each year, approximately 40 participants gain training and experience that helps them grow as leaders. The goal is to equip class members to contribute most effectively to their professions and communities. Each annual Leadership Class selects and completes a project designed to achieve a lasting and meaningful benefit to the community. For more information go to www.leadershiptechvalley.org.
