Tasty Trails..... Your pathway to good eats!

The Mighty Casey's.... Not a Strike out!

Hey Y’all…….

After a short trip to Amtrak, the hunger pangs were tolling…. So we (BFFs & SO) headed to a local Rensselaer institution, Jimmy Casey’s Restaurant. Casey’s has the beauty of truly being all things to all people. You can bring your people for a formal consumption experience in the dining room or you can watch your favorite sporting event, chat with the denizens of Rensselaer County and eat in the informal yet inviting bar area.

We sat in the bar area, which was patron heavy and perused the menu. We opted to order from the appetizer and lite nite menus versus their lovely dinner menu. Our attentive waitress brought our beverages and bread with a smile and was patient with our questions on the specials and final selections.
Fried Calamari, chicken quesadillas, roast beef sandwich and butternut squash soup made it to our table with all deliberate speed and my tummy did a happy dance! The chicken quesadillas were isosceles triangles with chunks of seasoned chicken and warm cheese with bonus dollops of salsa and sour cream…..yum yum good. The giant portion of fried succulent calamari with a side of cocktail sauce was good to the last bite. The roast beef sandwich was witnessed and told to be rare, hearty and enjoyable. Alas, the soup was not a fan favorite.
