The Schenectady Jewish Community Center,2565 Balltown Road, Schenectady, will host the New York City-based Jewish Music Collective NaNa on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 for center members, 11 for non-members and $5 for students.
Dave Keen, alongside Rob Silverbush and Yuval Edoot, present the music of the collective which is the second offering by the Schenectady JCC as a part of the afternoon Music at the J Concert Series.
It uses great Jewish and Israeli themes,old and new, to awaken the heart of the beauty of life, and to stir the soul through Jewish and Israeli music, said Keen in a press release.
Keen is a classically trained musician who plays with multiple orchestras and musical groups internationally. He is also the resident violinist and bass player at the Stephen Wise Synagogue in Manhattan. Rob Silverbush is a song leader based out of NYC who teaches children through Jewish and Israeli songs and is currently working on a children’s album. Yuval Edoot is a percussionist who has worked with Keen in enables and major halls throughout the country.
The trio use their personal experiences in the performing arts and an intimate acoustic settings to provide listeners with a new outlook on the old and new world through the Jewish music.
The Program is supported by the United Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, the County of Schenectady,and the Niskayuna Consumer’s Cooperative Supermarket.
