Saratoga Springs police are continuing to work with Schenectady police to investigate a shooting that occurred in the early morning on Friday, Dec. 11.
According to a release from Saratoga Springs Lt. Gregory Veitch, at around 6 a.m., police responded to Saratoga Hospital Emergency Room for a 32-year-old male who had been shot in the leg. It was reported to police that the victim had been driven to Saratoga Hospital in a private vehicle and he was subsequently transferred to Albany Medical Center.
On Friday, Veitch said he has no further information on the case or the condition of the victim, but that Saratoga Springs and Schenectady police are attempting to verify several leads in the case to determine the exact location of the shooting and to identify any suspects that may be involved.
Now, police believe they know where the shooting occurred and are seeking at least two witnesses they believe saw it, according to another release from Lt. Veitch. Police believe the shooting was the result of an argument between two men at a residence on the west side of Saratoga Springs. Police executed a warrant and searched the residence. Veitch said police will not release any information about the victim, witnesses or residence until they locate and interview the witnesses.
