Construction on the I-87 exit 6 ramp is scheduled to begin this weekend.
The first of four non-consecutive weekend closures of Exit 6 during the 2010 construction season is tentatively set to take place during the weekend of March 6-8. Beginning at 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, and extending to 6 a.m. on Monday, March 8, all ramps to and from the Northway in each direction at Exit 6 will be closed. During this weekend, there will be one through-travel lane in each direction on the bridge. Signed detours will be in place for the weekend. Through the 2010 construction season, motorists should expect fewer travel lanes on the bridge, according to information from New York State Department of Transportation
