The Town of Clifton Park, in cooperation with the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, will host a Neighborhood Watch program for residents at the Clifton Park Public Safety Building, 5 Municipal Plaza, on Thursday, June 10, at 7 p.m., according to information from the town.
The informal meeting will give residents an opportunity to share an evening with law enforcement officials to learn proven tips on how to keep neighborhoods quiet and safe.
For example, residents will be encouraged to notify their neighbors and Town Security when they are going to be on vacation. Clifton Park residents can voluntarily fill out a `vacation checklist` and town security officers will conduct a visual inspection of the premises on a regular basis while they are away.
Residents can learn how and what to do to prevent problems before they happen. Officials will discuss how to recognize the signs and signals of inappropriate behaviors that can lead to nuisance rowdiness or potential minor vandalism in our community as the weather warms up and school is out.
Saratoga County Sheriff’s Sergeant Tom McDonough will provide suggestions on what residents should look for and what they can do when they see unacceptable or suspicious activity. Residents will be invited to ask questions about their neighborhoods and any concerns they may have about safety and property protection.
The event is free and open to the public. The Clifton Park Public Safety Building is located along Route 146 near Citizen’s Bank and Maxwell Drive. For more information, call the town’s Community Development Office at 371-6651, ext. 230.
