BETHLEHEM The search for Bethlehem Central School District’s next superintendent has begun – and your input is requested.
“We’re asking the residents of Bethlehem, who work in the school and live in the community if they know or can think of someone who would be good candidate, and we, with the Bethlehem School Board will reach out to talk to them,” said Dr. Charles S. Dedrick, District Superintendent of Capital Region BOCES.
Candidate applications as well as anonymous nomination forms are now available on BCSD’s website.
“We’ve found that the nomination process really works,” said Dedrick. “I’ll give you one example: In Niskayuna, the current superintendent hadn’t applied until he was nominated, and Niskayuna is a very similar district.” Dedrick is “hoping for the same high quality results,” here in Bethlehem.
As BC is a nationally top-ranked school in academic performance and with the growth of the Capital Region, the district superintendent said the position will attract many applicants from all over the state and from across the nation. Some resumes have already been received.
Ultimately, the School Board will make the decision, with Dedrick and BOCES acting as consultants, having been through the process of finding new superintendents countless times. “We help the board
