On Tuesday, August 9, federal, state and local officials will join Whitney Young Health CEO David Shippee in unveiling Whitney Young Health’s new Watervliet Health Center. Speakers will address how the Watervliet Health Center is expanding services to those with limited access to primary medical, dental and behavioral health care in the Capital Region, as well as Whitney Young Health’s plans for additional expansion.
The event coincides with National Health Center Week. Whitney Young Health and local political leaders will join hundreds of other community health center organizations across the country in celebrating the role of community health centers in improving the health of millions of Americans.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony, news conference and open house will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be attended by US Congressman Paul Tonko; New York State Senator Neil Breslin; New York State Assemblyman John T. McDonald III; Albany County Executive Dan McCoy; and Watervliet Mayor Michael Manning.
The public is invited to attend. Watervliet Health Center staff will be on hand to provide tours and answer questions.
