COLONIE – A student was injured after getting hit by a car on Thursday, Dec. 21, outside Colonie High School.
According to police, a 16-year-old driver was backing out of a parking spot when he hit a 16-year-old female student and possibly ran her over. He then hit a parked car that was occupied by a parent waiting to pick up his child.
The female student was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital with numerous, but non-life threatening, injuries.
The male driver did stop and is cooperating with police.
Drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as contributing factors in the crash, according to Sgt. John E. O’Donnell, but the investigation is continuing.
