BETHLEHEM—On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, Bethlehem Toastmasters presented this year’s Spirit of Ray Bell Award to Distinguished Toastmaster Jim Parsons at their 22nd “birthday” celebration at the Clubhouse of the Adam Station Apartment complex in Bethlehem.
The award, which was created by Bethlehem Toastmasters in 2016, is in memory of Raymond F. Bell, who founded the Bethlehem Toastmasters Club in 1996. Award recipients are recognized by their fellow Toastmasters for meeting the following criteria:
Promoting the value of building leadership and communication skills to attain personal and professional goals
Dedication to the Toastmasters Club Mission of providing a supportive and positive learning environment in which every member can grow
Honoring and abiding by the Toastmasters Promise to the best of their ability
Sharing this spirit with fellow Toastmasters and the community to help foster a commitment to the Toastmasters Core Values of integrity, respect, service, and excellence
Applying their unique strengths and attributes that contribute to fun and encouraging meetings
According to Toastmaster Sean Hogan, Parsons was chosen “for his selfless, ongoing support at all levels of the organization. One of the club’s longest tenured members, Jim has helped countless others to improve their speaking and leadership skills. He serves in a number of local clubs, as well as at Area-, Division-, and District-level organizations and events. Many of our members took this
opportunity to let Jim know how much his generosity and mentoring have meant to them throughout the years. He is an incredible asset to the community.”
