It sounds expensive. Will this be a way of subsidizing sprawl at the expense of denser urban areas that more efficiently support transit? Would there be more benefit to providing greater service to urban routes, instead?
Great idea Carm
Carmen a blast from the past
And would these vehicles be accessible? That would be a HUGE plus since STAR does not serve Clifton Park.
The plan they had for the bus route in Clifton Park was a total failure. The bus that ran between Saratoga Springs and Clifton Park called the 409, went between two bedroom communities and not down to Latham Farm and not even to the Walmart in Clifton Park. If someone wanted to work at Global Foundries had to take a bus from Troy out to Schenectady then take the bus from Schdy up to the Saratoga. A person would then take a bus down to where Global Foundries. It would have been easier if the 409 had went from Latham Farm up to Saratoga where Global Foundries was between those two. If a person live in the Bronx and worked in Manhattan, a person would have had to go up to Yonkers, then over to Rockland County, down to Jersey and finally into Manhattan.
I always wished there was a bus between Latham and Clifton park
It’s something that’s LONG overdue! I think it’s gonna be a huge plus!
