COLONIE — Five vehicles were broken into on Tuesday, Oct. 22, and police are reminding people to lock their cars and not leave valuables in plain sight.
According to Lt. Robert Winn, the thefts occurs between 4:30 and 8:30 p.m. and took place in parking lots that usually indicated the vehicle would be unattended for a period of time.
Three vehicles were broken into in the lot of BJ’s Brewhouse on Wolf Road, one vehicle at Forts ferry School and one in Carrabba’s Restaurant on Troy Schenectady Road.
In all cases, items of potential value were left in plain view. The items taken were: a wallet, purse, backpack/bookbag, and lap top computer bags.
“Residents are once again urged to always lock their vehicles and to never leave items of value, or that could appear to be valuable, in plain view,” Winn said.
