COLONIE — A 52-year-old Albany man was arrested after allegedly trying to rob two Wolf Road eateries and leaving before getting any money.
According to Lt. Robert Winn, police got a call from Chili’s Restaurant at 60 Wolf Road at 3:58 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11. The caller reported the man had passed a note demanding money while holding his hand inside his coat and telling the cashier that no one would get hurt if they complied with his demands.
He ran out of the restaurant before getting any money.
Shortly after leaving Chili’s, he allegedly went to the Taco Bell at 56 Wolf Road and did about the same thing, once again leaving before getting any money.
Rheuben Bowling was arrested at 4:03 p.m. as he was leaving Taco Bell.
There was never a weapon displayed and no injuries were reported. The robbery note was recovered.
Bowling was arraigned in Colonie town Court on two felonies of attempted robbery and sent to the Albany County jail.
