COLONIE — A 30-year-old homeless woman was arrested on Tuesday, June 3 for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend multiple times at 1368 Central Ave.
According to Lt. Robert Winn, police were called to the apartment building at around 10:13 a.m. and found a 35-year-old male in the front doorway suffering from multiple stab/slash wounds to head, arm, rib cage and leg.
Officers stopped the bleeding, and turned over care to Colonie EMS. He was transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital for treatment and is expected to be released later today.
He was not cooperating with the investigation,” Winn said.
Detectives interviewed witness Destiny Pettway and she initially told them a white male had stabbed her boyfriend and then jumped out a second story window to escape.
“That was determined to be completely false,” Winn said.
Two knives and a box cutter were recovered from the scene and the weapon used is believed to be among those three items.
Pettway was processed and sent to the centralized court at the Albany County Correctional Facility for arraignment on the felonies of assault and criminal possession of a weapon. There is also an active warrant for her arrest out of New York City for assault and Schenectady for harassment, Winn said.
