DELMAR — Looking for a local band to bring back the musical memories of your own or your patrons’ youth? Take a listen to E.J. Ray Acoustic!
Founded in 2010 by a trio of baby boomers with decades of musical experience between them, E.J. Ray is quickly gaining popularity throughout the Capital District with its enjoyable and pleasant sound.
Fronted by vocalist Becky Ray Costigan, the group entertains audiences of all ages with its covers of popular artists from the past and present including Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty, Marianne Faithfull, Steve Winwood and The Beatles. Holiday, patriotic, Irish and original songs are added to the lineup depending on the occasion or special event.
Multi-instrumentalist and backup vocalist Ned Costigan provides the trio’s signature harmonies supported by both six- and 12-string guitars and harmonica. Wayne Orr provides its solid rhythmic foundation on bass guitar while light percussion by Becky Ray rounds out many of its songs.
E.J Ray performs regularly at O’Slattery’s in Delmar, Bellini’s in Latham, Katie O’Byrne’s in Schenectady and The Bull’s Head Inn in Cobleskill. You’ll also hear them at several local farmers’ markets.
