Local businesswoman Sheri Canfield is purpose driven. That’s the foundation of her latest venture that opened this past summer: The Bizzy Beez – A Sensory Adventure on Wolf Road in the Shopper Park of Wolf Road plaza. Bizzy Beez is sensory gym that offers children of all abilities a safe environment to play and refine their skills to respond to sensory situations. The sensory gym employs licensed therapists who can provide pediatric therapy.
Sheri Canfield started the sensory gym because she saw a need that wasn’t being filled in the community – that was for quality programs and services for children with sensory issues. Bizzy Beez -A Sensory Adventure offers that place for enrichment programs and workshops that directly support the child’s development and empowers the family to have more knowledge and understanding on how they can support their child.
Until recently, the Bizzy Beez – A Sensory Adventure was housed and part of the Spotted Zebra Learning Center, which is a contemporary, state of the art, year-round, integrated preschool that Sheri started about 15 years ago. From that preschool, families quickly started requesting more services, more support and more resources. Hence the Bizzy Beez – A Sensory Adventure was reborn and relocated to its own new space.
Bizzy Beez has expanded its purpose. In addition to being a place where children can play with purpose, it also offers private pediatric therapy, field trips, afterschool enrichment programming, summer programs and birthday parties.
