GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Industrial Development Agency (IDA) became principal community investor in the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce last week by making an investment of $10,000 to support the Chamber in its role as an information resource and advocate for the business community in the town.
“The [Guilderland] IDA is pleased to assist in the work of the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce in supporting the entire Guilderland business community,” William Young, the board chairman of the IDA, said in a press release.
The Guilderland IDA’s mission is to assist in the enhancement and diversity of the economy of the Town of Guilderland by acting in support of projects that create and/or retain jobs and/or promote private sector investment utilizing the statutory powers of the agency as set forth under the provisions of the laws of the state of New York.
This investment in the Guilderland Chamber allows the Guilderland IDA to support the small business community of Guilderland through the chamber. The majority of the Guilderland Chamber’s membership is small businesses, with over 45 percent of member businesses with up to 10 employees.
“We are excited to partner with the Guilderland IDA on this effort and thank [it] for [its] investment,” Danielle Walsh, the executive director of the chamber, said in a press release. “This investment will go a long way in assisting not only the Chamber, but the small businesses we support. We hope this investment will help us launch our community investor program and encourage more businesses to invest in the chamber to support the local business community. With this investment, we will be able to assist businesses with marketing efforts, advocacy, resources sharing and so much more.”
