Bethlehem Police are warning Selkirk and Coeymans residents to be weary of several break-ins.
The department is investigating a series of residential burglaries, which are taking place in Selkirk. Within the last week residences have had forced entry to them and multiple items of value have been stolen. The incidents are occurring in the River Road area, south of New York State Thruway Exit 22 and into the Town of Coeymans. Police said the burglaries are taking place during daytime hours.
Police said the incidents are a good reminder for residents to be observant of their neighbor’s properties, as well as their own. Residents should contact police with any incidents of suspicious activity. This includes suspicious people or vehicles. In addition, suspects can commonly be seen knocking on doors to determine if people are home. If they encounter someone, they then report fictitious information as to why they are actually there.
The Town of Bethlehem Police and Town of Coeymans Police continue to work jointly on the investigations, and encourage residents to contact them if they observe any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
