Bethlehem Police arrested Alvin W. DuBois, 59, on Monday, Nov. 16, after a year-long burglary investigation.
Police reportedly recovered over $20,000 in stolen property from a series of burglaries DuBois committed in Selkirk, Guilderland, Saratoga and Clifton Park.
Bethlehem Police began their investigation after a series of burglaries occured in Selkirk in August of 2014. These burglaries have commonalities with crimes committed in Colonie, Guilderland and Clifton Park, said police.
Multiple search warrants were executed, which reportedly revealed that proceeds from the burglaries in Saratoga County were pawned at jewelry stores in Delmar.
DuBois was indicted on two felony counts of burglary in the second degree and one felony count of criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree.
DuBois was DuBois was arraigned in Albany County Court on Nov. 16. As he was already serving a state prison sentence from a knifepoint rape and burglary he committed in Saratoga County in 2014, DuBois was remanded back into the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision after his arraignment.
DuBois is also a level three registered sex offender as a result of a conviction for sodomy in reference to a 1987 crime that took place in the same Slingerlands neighborhood as the burglaries he is now charged for.
Investigations were led by Bethlehem Police in conjunction with Colonie Police, Guilderland Police, New York State Police and the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department.
