I’m in the middle of the Serial podcast, which I just find fascinating and I think it’s amazing that this podcast could possibly lead to this young man getting another trial. I find it to be a really intriguing look at the American justice system. I just finished “The Goldfinch” by Donna Tartt. I will be starting a collection of short stories called “Redeployment.” It’s all about Iraq war soldiers who are redeployed over and over and the effect it has on them. It’s pretty powerful. I plan to use it when I do The Things They Carried unit again. “House of Cards” and “Better Call Saul.” After finishing “Breaking Bad” I never thought I’d watch TV again, but I’m really enjoying them. “Breaking Bad” was just so fantastic I just never thought anything could live up to it. I also just wrapped up “Newsroom” and I thought that was really good too. “McFarland, USA.” It was a family night out. I really thought it was such a tremendous message about seeing the potential in all people. Who they can become and who they are. Gandhi. Just cause I think it would be very interesting to hear his perspectives on how to deal with stress and tension in the world. He seemed like a pretty chill dude. I guess he could’ve been a jerk… it would’ve been nice to meet him and find out! York Beach, Maine in the middle of the summer. Sitting on the beach with my family, with the Red Sox on the radio. Is napping a hobby? Playing golf or tennis. I coach both sports for the school, but even outside the school I find a lot of peace being out on a golf course or paying some tennis. What are you listening to these days?
