Hudson Adirondack Daylily Society: Downsizing your Garden
Melanie Mason, a hybridizer of daylilies, discusses gardening in a smaller scale from a large varied garden.

North Eastern New York Orchid Society’s Orchid Auction
This year we are featuring orchids called Cattleyas and their hybrids. Many types of orchids are already on the list and we expect about 80 to 90 plants to auction off, with last minute member donations as well.

Red Cross Citizens Preparedness Corps
This presentation works to reduce New York state citizens’ vulnerability to natural disasters, covering how to prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural and manmade disasters — including active shooter situations.
Additionally, free, hands-only CPR training (a life-saving skill) will be available.

Stress and Hearing Loss: Coping with Holiday Stress
The Hearing Loss Association of Albany welcomes speaker Eric Eisenstein.
The holidays can be stressful for all, but for those with a hearing loss the added stress of trying to hear and communicate in the noisy environment of parties, restaurants and family gatherings can take its toll.
Come and learn strategies to cope and learn what you can do to make your holidays more enjoyable.

Storyteller Kate Dudding will share stories she gleaned from the Julia Child biography “Appetite for Life” by Noel Riley Fitch.
Come hear how this Smith graduate worked for the OSS during World War II, married a sophisticated man six inches shorter than herself, and taught millions everything they needed to know to make delicious meals.Program starts at 12:15 p.m.
