Monday, July 22 at 6 p.m.
It’s camping season, which means it is time to look for some new meal ideas outside the same ole’ hot dogs and hamburgers. Choose any grill-friendly or picnic recipe from the library’s extensive cookbook collection — or stop at the Information Desk to select a recipe from our cookbook of the month.
Don’t forget to bring a serving utensil, and a copy of the recipe you made! Registration is required: online or call 518-810-0314.
Film Noir Series
Tuesday, July 23 at 6 p.m.
Lenny Zapala — film expert and director of the Menands Library — returns this summer and fall to host a Lizabeth Scott, Queen of Noir film series. Many of Hollywood’s best actresses have given brilliant performances as noir heroines; however, only one actress seemed to be made of noir and noir only — Lizabeth Scott.
Up next: “Dead Reckoning” (1947) directed by John Cromwell. Producer Hal Wallis learns that Bogart’s upcoming noir at Columbia with Rita Hayworth has been held up. Wallis offers Liz to step in. Now we will know if she will be the next Bacall.

CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. — The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) and CDPHP wrapped up the third season of the CDPHP Cycle! riding season with more than 41,000 trips taken andClear out the bus stops on Rt. 9 Watervliet/Latham. Kids are standing in road! The stop right ahead of the circle had about a dozen people balancing on iced over roads. A little further down a mother was body shielding her toddler while they waited for the bus...once again in the road because the stop was snowed in. Shameful!!
