TROY — Guilderland and Christian Brothers Academy advanced to the Section 2 Class AA boys basketball semifinals with victories Saturday, Feb. 20, at Hudson Valley Community College.
No. 2 Guilderland rallied past Saratoga Springs 58-49 in one quarterfinal game, while No. 4 CBA edged No. 5 Colonie 57-54.
Trailing 41-38 after three quarters, CBA outscored Colonie 19-13 in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory and move into a semifinal match-up against No. 1 Shenendehowa Thursday, Feb. 25.
Sloan Seymour netted 21 points to lead three CBA players in double figures. Mike Wynn had 18 points, and Ian Schultz added 10 points.
Isaiah Moll scored 18 points, and Bryce Waterman contributed 11 points for Colonie.
Guilderland will face No. 3 Green Tech in the other semifinal contest Thursday, Feb. 25.
In Class B girls basketball, No. 4 Voorheesville moved into the semifinals with a 57-48 victory over Hudson at Hoosick Falls High School.
Rebecca Clair scored 18 points, and Rachel Blow added nine points for the Blackbirds. Selena Jones paced the Blue Hawks with 15 points.
Voorheesville meets No. 1 Hoosick Falls in the Class B semifinals Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Averill Park High School.
