COLONIE – The Bethlehem girls’ soccer team won a 2-1 thriller in the third overtime period against the favored Shaker squad on Monday, Oct. 24 in a Section 2 Class AA quarterfinal matchup.
Shaker, the No. 2 seed playing at home, led at halftime 1-0 with a Hannah Guidi goal but Bethlehem, the No. 7 seed, tied it up about midway through the second half when Brianna Price was able to score on a corner kick.
The game stayed tied throughout regulation and through the first two 10 minute overtime periods too.
At the 4:01 mark of the first five-minute overtime period, Holly Moore scored the Golden Goal.
Bethlehem will square off against Shenendahowa High School in the semifinal match on Thursday Oct. 27, 5 p.m. at Stillwater High School.
