ROTTERDAM – Bethlehem lost a heartbreaker on Wednesday, May 23, in the Class A championship game to Saratoga by a count of 14-12.
It was an exciting, back and forth game between two Section II rivals. The No. 3 seed Eagles had a one-goal lead at the half but it was tied up within three minutes. And it was tied up again at the 13:14 mark and again with 5:22 left in the game.
Lindsey Ayres and Caroline Wise had three goals each for Bethlehem while Katie Zito, Tessa Hughes and Piper Gregory had two goals each. Zito also had two assists.
Katie Wendell had six goals and an assist and Lindsey Frank had five goals for the No. 1 seed Saratoga, who will now play the Section I champ in regional play.
