ALBANY In one season, Joey DiPiazza’s “we-building” turned the Albany High School football program from a doormat into a respectable team, complete with a new, on-campus home field.
On Friday, Nov. 20, the Shaker High School graduate learned he was named one of four nationwide recipients of the Dove Men+Care Caring Coach of the Year Award at a surprise rally thrown in his honor.
“You know, there’s a lot of great coaches around the country doing great things for their teams,” said DiPiazza. “To be one of four coaches nationwide to be honored is incredible.”
DiPiazza was cited for his efforts during his rookie season with Albany
