ALBANY COUNTY Andrew Sischo scored 30 points to lead Guilderland past Schenectady 72-62 in a Suburban Council boys basketball game Friday, Dec. 4.
Trailing 42-39 at halftime, the Dutchmen (2-0) outscored the Patriots 22-9 in the third quarter to pull ahead for good.
Justin Monin contributed 22 points for Guilderland, while Tobias Holmes netted 16 points for Schenectady (1-1).
In another Suburban Council game, Christian Brothers Academy pulled out a 68-67 victory over Bethlehem on a last-second blocked shot.
Mike Wynn scored 26 points for CBA (1-1), including the game-winning shot. Sloan Seymour added 19 points for the Brothers.
Hayden Thompson had 19 points, and Michael Ortale contributed 13 points for Bethlehem (0-2).
In the Colonial Council, Voorheesville defeated Cobleskill-Richmondville 59-42 on the road. Scott Glasheen recorded 17 points for the Blackbirds (2-0), while Keenan Loder had 24 points for the Bulldogs.
