TROY — Nothing brings out the emotional windbags like the holidays, and that’s okay. You’re not alone. You’ll be welcomed at Franklin Alley Social Club to sing all about it on Friday, Nov. 29, at 9 p.m.
It’s the day after Thanksgiving, and they may call it Black Friday for other reasons. But, on this day, the night is yours. Get together to sing — or scream — to shake off the holiday blues.
Dan Maddalone will play the soundtrack to your bleeding heart and hand you the microphone so you can sing to your fellow wet blankets to some of the best indie and emo music available.
You likely won’t be hanging out with the person you’d rather be with, because he or she is with someone who is not you. And, yeah, I went there. So, you might just want to head out and be with other people in the same boat. Or, maybe they’re there for some other reason, and that gives you a topic to talk about. Hey, you could meet some one who has as much — if not more — emotional baggage as you. Isn’t that exciting?
I’m joking. The holidays are not fun for a lot of people. It’s actually kind of serious. So, get out with some friends and have some innocent fun. Get out and embrace it.
Franklin Alley Social Club is a great hangout that features shuffleboard, bocce, classic arcade games, cocktails, craft beers and a snack shack.
