Today is Summer Solstice – the official start to summer and for many children in the area – the last day of the school year. It also means that we’re getting closer to the opening of The Massry Family Children’s Emergency Center at Albany Med – the only pediatric emergency department in northeastern New York and western New England. Our new pediatric emergency department will connect to the physicians and resources currently available at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital, bringing the most comprehensive child health services possible to our community. “We have the region’s only pediatric emergency specialists to treat children, as well as the expertise and right-size equipment. We are excited for this next chapter in children’s emergency care,” said Dennis P. McKenna, MD, senior vice president, System chief medical officer, and Emergency Department attending physician. Summer is here, school’s out, and the region’s children will soon have “a place of their own” for emergency care -- all things to smile about! More: goo.gl/vHux9H... See MoreSee Less
