Letter to the Editor
I have been a resident of Delmar in the Town of Bethlehem for the past 18 years. I am an avid gardener, retired and pay high taxes. There is no consistent day of the week for yard refuse pick up during the past four years, leaf removal has been infrequent, highway employees have been reduced, as the population has doubled.
Dan Morin has worked for the Highway Department for the past thirteen years. He is intimately familiar with the workings and inefficiencies of the Department. He is committed to doing an excellent job.
Dan Morin and George Harder have been berated by the Democratic committee and others. A substitution form to allow Giles Wagner and Dan Coffey to run under the Democratic ticket was necessary. This required Jeff Kuhn, Dan Coffey, Pam Skrytak and a notary. Three of the above mentioned are attorneys. They were unable to complete this simple form correctly. This incompetence is of great concern to me.
Instead of taking responsibility for their mistake, they played the blame game and presented this error to the State Supreme Court. They lost their case, and if that wasn’t enough, appealed the case and lost again.
Dan Morin and George Harder are the Democratic representatives on the ticket. Dan Coffey and Giles Wagner are running under the Working Families Party.
The response towards Dan Morin and George Harder has been, to say the least, vicious. This is not a sign of good character. Is this a closed club?
I will support Dan Morin and George Harder as they have integrity and will focus their energies on the work to be done. Under Dan’s direction I am confident my refuse issues will be resolved.
