The Bethlehem Senior Chorus presents “If Music Be the Food of Life” on Friday, Dec. 8, at 1 p.m., at the Bethlehem Town Hall, at 445 Delaware Ave in Delmar.
With the holidays approaching and thoughts turning to hospitality and festive fare, you can enjoy a musical journey featuring food-themed songs. Directed by Claudia Summers, the chorus, which is now in its 12th year, strives to present varied and timeless music that feeds your soul and puts a smile on your face.
Open to all, the concert is cosponsored by Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc.
Second concert in music series
Continuing in the musical vein, The Van Voris Trio will perform Sunday, Dec. 10, as part of the library’s A Little Sunday Music series. The concert will feature arrangements of well-known classics from the 17th-20th centuries with family members John Van Voris on flute, Jodi Van Voris on violin and Laura Van Voris on cello.
A Little Sunday Music picks up again in 2018 with a concert featuring The Mendelssohn Club on Feb. 11. The 2017-18 season closes with The Broad Street Chamber Players on March 11.
All concerts begin at 2 p.m. in the Community Room and are free and open to everyone. A Little Sunday Music is generously underwritten by Friends of Bethlehem Public Library.
Even more music
Once again, we’re joining our friends from the Center for Disability Services for a morning of music with the Greg Nazarian Trio, a talented group consisting of a tenor saxophone, bass guitar and keyboard. The concert takes place Monday, Dec. 11, from 10:30-11:15 a.m., and refreshments will be served.
The Center for Disability Services provides opportunities and support for people with disabilities, and the goal of the musical gathering is to enhance their clients’ social circles.
Holiday hours
The library will be closed Sunday through Monday, Dec. 24-25, and Monday, Jan. 1.
