BETHLEHEM — Police arrested a 55-year-old Delmar man on Monday, Nov. 18 in relation to inappropriate contact with a minor.
According to a police report released on Thursday, Nov. 21, the incident happened at Carl D. Smith’s residence where he had inappropriate contact with a person he knew, who was under 16. The person reported the incident immediately to their parents who then contacted Bethlehem police.
Police have since launched an ongoing investigation, including executing a search warrant at Smith’s residence and conducting interviews with people who know Smith. Smith was arrested and charged with forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned by Judge Andrew Kirby at the Town of Bethlehem Court and released on his own recognizance.
Smith is scheduled to return to the Town of Bethlehem Court on Dec. 17 at 4 p.m.
