GLENMONT — Delmar BSA Troop 75 placed flags on military veterans’ graves on Wednesday, May 20 at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery in Glenmont to observe Memorial Day.
An annual tradition, Troop 75 adapted this year by arriving in 15-minute increments and placing their flags in an assigned section of the cemetery. They continued maintaining social distancing and wore masks. Despite the American Legion Nathaniel Adams Blanchard Post 1040 postponing its annual Memorial Day Parade, Troop 75 “insisted on completing this annual community service project,” according to Steven Kroll, Delmar-Bethlehem EMS’ chief and executive director who was in attendance.
