COLONIE – Despite six goals by Maeve Lennon, the Blue Bison lost a Senior Night heartbreaker 13-12 to Saratoga on Thursday, May 11, in a Suburban Council matchup.
Saratoga (9-1, 12-2) jumped out to an early lead and was up by two goals at the half.
Shaker (8-4, 8-5) tied it up at 11 with 10:35 left in the game, and took a 12-11 lead at the 8:59 mark. Saratoga then scored two unanswered to win the game 13-12.
Lennon had a free shot at goal to tie with 5.7 seconds left in the game, and did get off a clean shot, but was denied by Saratoga goalie Abigail Searles, who finished with 11 saves.
Katie Julien and Emma Notarino each had two goals and Grace Papa and Kim Barbo chipped in a goal each to round out the scoring for Shaker.
For Saratoga, Katie Wendell had three goals and two assists, Lindsey Frank had three goals and an assist and Sophia Burke had three goals. Cam Perry had two goals and an assist, Reilly Hogan had a goal and two assists and Sylvie Waters chipped in a goal.
Goalie Emily Polsinello had 13 saves for the Blue Bison.
