COLONIE – A 41-year-old Vermont man is facing drug and weapon charges after getting pulled over for a traffic infractions on Monday, Oct. 1.
According to Lt. Robert Winn, when officers pulled over Andre Marshall on Loudon Road at around 2 a.m., they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from his 2018 Dodge Caravan.
When questioned about the odor, Marshall handed officer Austin Blais a small baggie of the drug.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a small bag containing one gram of cocaine and another bag containing 13 grams of that drug.
He told officers he was staying at room 26 of the Golden Circle Inn on Loudon Road. A search of the room uncovered a Sig Sauer 2022 9mm handgun with a defaced serial number and a large capacity ammunition magazine loaded with eight rounds of ammo.
Marshall faces the felonies of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, the misdemeanor of criminal possession of a controlled substance, the violation of unlawful possession of marijuana and the traffic violations of failing to stop before entering a roadway and failure to stay in a single lane.
He was arraigned in Colonie Town Court and sent to the Albany County jail.
