Camp Adventure, a Capital District YMCA summer camp in Guilderland, has just received new archery equipment, thanks to an Albany County grant that contributed $2,000 of the $2,900 that the new targets, bows and arrows ultimately cost the camp.
[Legislator Mark Grimm grins after hitting the bullseye with the first shot.]
Dorry Foster, YMCA’s Capital District executive director and the head of the Guilderland Y, applied for the grant. County Legislator Mark Grimm(29th District – Guilderland), the grant’s sponsor, took the first shot during the ceremony and hit a bull’s-eye!
The new archery equipment will be used to expand the program for youth campers, continue an advanced program into the fall and spring seasons, and implement adult courses in archery. The equipment will also be available for corporate and private parties and picnics at the camp.

We already have the program in place. It’s called the Navigator app.
It would definitely help for out-of-towners (like myself)
One problem is not everyone owns a smartphone and the elderly don't know how to use them. How many people use the Navigator card? One problem with CDTA is that it needs to get more people to befriend CDTA on Twitter and Facebook. CDTA has 7375 following them on Facebook while it has 3,030 on twitter while SUNY Albany has 17,373 students and HVCC has 11,640 students. The are 19 colleges and 7 hospitals in the Capital District which means having 10405 following you on either Facebook and Twitter that means if you go by the numbers that means you have only 416 in each college and hospital following you, those are not good numbers.
